About Me


In Spring 2022, I made the bold decision to forgo my admission to the integrated Master’s in Professional Accounting (iMPA) program and instead pursue an entirely different path: business analytics. It’s a choice I’ve never regretted! Since then, I’ve seen firsthand how analytics and data science can be applied to everything from optimizing delivery routes to predicting critical health outcomes. I've had the privilege of deepening my knowledge in these areas and sharing what I’ve learned with others. Now, I’m eager to use analytics and data science to solve real-world business problems that make a difference in people's lives downstream.

Currently, I am working as a portfolio management analyst at Amherst. I have a Master of Science in Business Analytics from the University of Texas at Austin, where I previously earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration in May 2024. As I continue to explore the complex world of analytics and data science, I’m committed to developing my expertise and navigating this rapidly evolving field.

Portfolio Management Analyst

Fall 2025 - Present         Austin, TX

As my current role and first full-time position, I work with the portfolio management team to support investment strategy and performance oversight for single-family rental portfolios. I also collaborate with the modeling team to develop and optimize analytical models and valuation frameworks, enhancing my skills in data analysis, financial modeling, and strategic decision-making.




Portfolio Management and Modeling Intern

Summer 2025        Austin, TX

Working with both the portfolio management team and modeling team at Amherst, I gained exposure to various areas of the business, including retail strategy, insurance, same-store financials, and customer survey analysis. This internship help me hone my skills Excel and SQL along with exposing me to best practices for preparing materials and presentations to senior leadership and investors.




Data Science Capstone Project

Spring 2025        Austin, TX

For my MSBA Capstone project, I worked with Amherst on a resident retention project. Amherst tasked my team with cleaning/combining lease, resident, and external market data and ultimately developing a renewal probability classification model to identiy top renewal drivers that would lead to optimized portfolio performance.

In this role, I supported Dr. Mark Tsechansky with his his MBA and MS courses by grading assignments, managing discussion boards, providing LMS support, and performing clerical tasks to enhance course delivery and student engagement!




Advanced Analytics Programming Grader

Spring 2024        Austin, TX

As a grader for Dr. Deepayan Chakrabarti, I created rubrics to assess 80 students understanding of Python libraries, specifically Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, and Statsmodels.api. Specifically, I graded homework assignments, exams, and the final data analysis project.




Data Science Capstone Project

Spring 2024        Austin, TX

For my undergraduate Capstone project, I worked with NetApp on a customer engagement project. Essentially, NetApp wanted my team to develop Python scripts to identify customers with reduction in spend and predict customers who are likely to reduce spending soon.




Predictive Analytics and Data Mining Teaching Assistant

Fall 2023 - Spring 2024        Austin, TX

As a teaching assistant for Dr. Mark Tsechansky, in addition to grading quizzes and exams, I constructed and led review sessions as a resource for over 250 students. Additionally, I refined existing Scikit-Learn class material/homework and lectured code on a regular basis, earning the nickname "Super TA" among the students and my colleagues.





Procurement and Supplier Management Teaching/Research Assistant

Spring 2023 - Spring 2024        Austin, TX

As a teaching assistant for Dr. Michael Hasler, I developed evaluation criteria for case study homework in Excel and helped establish ongoing student sourcing projects with UT Austin's Procurement and Payment Services. Concurrently, as a research assistant, I updated case studies with current production and purchasing data and researched the electric aviation industry.




Operations Management Teaching Assistant

Fall 2022 - Fall 2023        Austin, TX

In this role, I led a team of TAs, managing up to 4 Canvas course pages to support over 240 students each semester through office hours, review sessions, and exam administration. I also assisted Dr. Michael Hasler in teaching an executive class on supply chain communication, emphasizing the bullwhip effect.




Operations and Business Process Improvement Intern

Summer 2023        McKinney, TX

Throughout my summer internship at Raytheon, I worked on a multitude of projects supporting four different product lines for the Advanced Products Center utilizing Python, Excel, and Power BI. These projects ranged from automating test set down time trend and cost-yield analyses to creating several dashboards for sub-assembly failures and production interrupt (PI) systems.




Study Abroad: Business Law in Edinburgh

Summer 2022        Edinburgh, Scotland

In the summer of 2022, I participated in UT Austin's Business Law in Edinburgh study abroad program, taking courses on Business Law and Ethics, as well as International Law, at the University of Edinburgh. This program exposed me to various legal specialties, including constitutional, tort, contract, and intellectual property law, with a focus on case law analysis.




Differential and Integral Calculus for Business Grader

Fall 2021 - Spring 2022        Austin, TX

As a grader for Dr. William (Bill) Wolesensky, I graded individual homework and group worksheet assignments on a biweekly basis for around 100 students per semester. I was also responsible for providing detailed feedback to students.

While working with Senior Counsel William Wong of the Hong Kong Bar during his tenure as a Deputy High Court Judge, I contributed key recommendations for the Skyline Credit Ltd. v Leung Hing Ching case, now a leading authority on calculating the effective interest rate in money lending. I also shadowed him, studied landmark cases on precedent (e.g., Donoghue v Stevenson), and provided proofreading support.

Fall 2024
Developed a neural network utilizing actigraphy data, physical fitness assessments, and demographic information from the Healthy Brain Network to identify early signs of problematic internet use in children, achieving a Quadratic Weighted Kappa score of 0.35. The winner is the team that submits severity index predictions closest to the actual severity index labels from a hidden test set.

Utilized a gradient boosting regressor machine learning model based on over 13,000 houses worth of data scraped from Zillow to predict houses prices with a heavy emphasis on feature selection/engineering. The winner is the student who submits house price predictions closest to the actual house prices from a holdout set.

Spring 2023, Second Place
Engineered a random forest machine learning model utilzing historical NBA player data to determine the optimal portfolio investment strategy. Utilized feature engineering, grid search cross-validation, and model comparison of ROC AUC scores to generate a profit of $3.02 million out of a maximum $3.6 million.
